The Three Little Pigs
Santa left us a special present. We were very excited. Inside we had a special construction set and a Three Little Pigs Story. We have had lots of fun exploring our special Construction Den. We have also enjoyed engaging in role play and painting pigs too.
We had fun exploring shapes.
We all loved the 'Little Red Riding Hood' Story. We enjoyed playing in Grandma's Cottage and the special Woodland Den. We have read the story lots and pretended to be the different characters. We loved exploring the minibeasts and woodland animals hidden in our Woodland Den and explored positional language by hiding the animals in different places.
Our first topic will be All About Me. We will be learning songs such as heads, shoulders, knees and toes to help us name parts of the body. We will be making pictures of ourselves and talking about our families. It would be lovely if children could bring in a photo of their family to show us and talk about.
Most importantly, we are having fun at Nursery. We are learning how to explore our environment safely and how to play with our friends. We are learning how to take turns and share with other children with kind hands. We sing Nursery Rhymes everyday and learn new words too.
Afternoon Nursery children have been looking at the story Rosie's Walk. Mrs Allport sent us a special present, We had our very own Rosie! We read the story about Rosie who went on an adventure around the farm. It looks at lots of positional language. We have loved hiding Rosie in different places and finding her on the chair, under the blanket, behind a car, next to the table etc. We have also played a game with Rosie, putting her on our head, foot, tummy, back etc. We have asked the children to tell us where Rosie is to support their language development too. We love Rosie and are loving looking after her.

We would like to welcome you all to our Nursery. It has been so lovely to see so many smiley and happy children keen to return to Nursery this academic year. We have lots of lovely areas for the children to explore in with their friends. We are focusing on providing lots of opportunities for all children to develop their personal and social skills as well as the communication and language skills. Children will be given lots of opportunities to develop their physical skills too. We want all our children at nursery to be happy and confident learners by providing a safe environment in which they can explore independently.
Our Morning Nursery children will be looking at Goldilocks and The Three Bears as the focus story for their learning and we will plan lots of lovely activities linked to this. Please check this area for photos showing how much fun we will have.
Our Afternoon Nursery children will base their learning around exploring colours and learning nursery rhymes. We will be focusing on supporting these younger children to develop their communication and language skills, personal and social skills and physical skills.
In a morning we have been learning all about Bears. We have made porridge for The Three Bears and have made our very own delicious bear biscuits. We have been reading "We're Going on a Bear Hunt." It's been brilliant to see lots of the children join in with the actions and chant the repeated phrases. We will spend the last two weeks of this first half term focusing on Autumn and Harvest. We will be exploring outside to see what is happening to all the leaves.
