In the morning nursery session we have been look at the story of Oliver's Vegetables and Oliver's fruit salad. We had a look at different vegetables and talked about how they feel. We have been trying lots of different fruit this week during snack time including pineapple and kiwi fruit. We have talked about how important fruit and vegetables are for us and how it is good to try new vegetables. We have used the real vegetables in our vegetable shop and had lots of fun using coins to pay for our vegetables in our special shop.
In the afternoon we have loved exploring the vegetables, feeling how heavy they are and naming the vegetables. We have talked about colours too.
We have been very busy in Nursery and been having lots of fun!
Mrs Hutton helped us to make pancakes. We looked at all the ingredients and talked about what we needed to do to make them. We even got to eat them! In the morning we looked at 'The Runaway Pancake' story. It was a super story. In the afternoon we looked at 'Mr Wolfs Pancake' story. Morning Nursery children got to visit Miss Faux's pancake shop to choose a special pancake with different toppings.
We made special heart pictures to take home for our grown ups to show them we love them. We talked about special people who we love. Miss Kirk gave us all a heart chocolate to take home.
Chinese New Year
In the morning session we looked at the story of Chinese New Year where the animals had a race. We talked about the animals and the order in which they came. This year was the year of the dog so we made dog pictures. We got to eat special Chinese food too. Yummy!
In the afternoon session we tasted noodles and prawn crackers. We made a Chinese dragon picture too.
Our first topic will be All About Me. We will be learning songs such as heads, shoulders, knees and toes to help us name parts of the body. We will be making pictures of ourselves and talking about our families. It would be lovely if children could bring in a photo of their family to show us and talk about.
We would like to welcome you all to our Nursery. It has been so lovely to see so many smiley and happy children keen to return to Nursery this academic year. We have lots of lovely areas for the children to explore in with their friends. We are focusing on providing lots of opportunities for all children to develop their personal and social skills as well as the communication and language skills. Children will be given lots of opportunities to develop their physical skills too. We want all our children at nursery to be happy and confident learners by providing a safe environment in which they can explore independently.
Our Morning Nursery children will be looking at Goldilocks and The Three Bears as the focus story for their learning and we will plan lots of lovely activities linked to this. Please check this area for photos showing how much fun we will have.
Our Afternoon Nursery children will base their learning around exploring colours and learning nursery rhymes. We will be focusing on supporting these younger children to develop their communication and language skills, personal and social skills and physical skills.
In a morning we have been learning all about Bears. We have made porridge for The Three Bears and have made our very own delicious bear biscuits. We have been reading "We're Going on a Bear Hunt." It's been brilliant to see lots of the children join in with the actions and chant the repeated phrases. We will spend the last two weeks of this first half term focusing on Autumn and Harvest. We will be exploring outside to see what is happening to all the leaves.
Our New afternoon children have settled in well and have been focusing on taking turns and sharing our toys. Our older afternoon children have been helping the new children settle in. We have been busy making apple and pear prints this week to make a lovely display.
