Welcome to Reception!
This week we have been thinking about bullying... what a bully is, what we do if we see a bully and what to do if we are being bullied. We all received a badge to prevent bullying - which we wear with pride. We thought about ONE KIND WORD we could say to someone else.
This week we have been learning about Bonfire Night. We thought about ways to stay safe during bonfire night. We dipped breadsticks and apples in melted chocolate, drank hot chocolate and enjoyed imagining we could see fireworks.
Friday French Day
On Friday we learnt about France! We made our own French flags, had croissants with jam and butter for snack and learnt about the Eiffel Tower. Ask me how to say hello in French!
This week we have been learning about spo0o0o0oky things... we started off with witches fingers and dip for breakfast (toast and marmite!), then we carved pumpkins, made a witch's potion, baked bat-shaped biscuits and finished off with a trip to Brierley Hill library to learn some makaton.
Black History Month
This week we have been learning about Black History Month... this included learning about Stevie Wonder, Rosa Parks, designing our own masks for a tribe and doing some dancing!
Only One You
This week we have been thinking about being HAPPY! We thought about ways to make our minds and hearts happy. We painted a rock that will be used as a whole-school path. On Friday the whole school went YELLOW!
This week we have been thinking about being different and unique, we made cupcakes and gave each one a unique topping.
This week we have been thinking about how we are different to others... the things that make us unique.
This week we have been thinking about sharing, and how it makes others feel if we don't share... or if we do share.
