Running Club are following the Couch to 5K programme, along the
Canal Tow Path.
Last week we embarked on Week 1 of the training schedule.
5K works because it starts with a mix of running and walking to gradually build up your fitness and stamina. Week 1 involves running for just a minute at a time, creating realistic expectations and making the challenge feel achievable right from the start, (although some found running for 1 minute at a time hard). I am sure that we will all get better and be able to run 5k without stopping once we have completed the training programme.
