Monday 14th December Home Learning

Home learning this week is going to be slightly different. As you have worked your socks off completing lots of your home learning tasks over the last few weeks, I thought this week we would have some fun doing some Christmas activities. So, I won't be posting three videos each day this week, I will be posting either a Maths or English activity and a craft activity each day.

So today if we had been in school we would have done our maths challenge. Now I know how you love doing this, so I thought today you could have a go at some Christmas multiplication mosaics. See how speedy you are with filling in the answers. You will find the sheets below. I know you are brilliant at your times tables Year 3. I can't wait to see how you do.

Christmas Craft Activity

For today's Christmas craft activity I would like you to have a go at making a Christmas Santa. Head over to the video resource section, watch the video  and then have a go at making one! I can't wait to see your Santa creations Year 3!

Christmas Wreath Craft

Our Christmas craft activity for today is to make a Christmas wreath. Head over to the video resource centre to watch my video of how to make one. The template is attached below. If you can't print the template out please have a go at making your own wreath. Try to be as creative as you can.

This half term we have been very busy!

In Science, we learned about rocks and how they are formed. We grouped rocks according to their characteristics and also we explored their uses. We looked at different soils and explored how fossils are formed.

Take a look at us exploring different soils.

In Geography we have learned about the difference between a country and a continent. We have used a world map to locate countries in different continents around the world. We have found out some of the key geographical features of each continent. We have also located major capital cities of the world and identified human and physical features in a particular country.

In Computing, we designed and wrote a program that simulates a physical action i.e. vehicles moving at different speeds and angles. The children have used a timer to make a character repeat actions and have explored the use of the repeat command and how it differs from the timer.

In Art, we investigated the use of symbols in Aboriginal art. We experimented with the dot technique. We created a piece of art work in the style of an aboriginal Dreamtime journey.
