Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium money is additional funding that schools are allocated as a way to support children who are deemed as being vulnerable to underachievement.  This group includes children who are entitled to free school meals along with children who are looked after by the local authority.  The purpose of this extra funding is to accelerate progress and raise attainment for these children.

The amount of money that is allocated to each school to be used for the purpose of Pupil Premium is clearly identifiable.  It is however, at the discretion of the school to decide how this money is spent, this is due to the fact that they are best placed to assess what the most effective intervention strategies or additional support would best, this way ensuring that individual progress for these identified children is made.

All schools are required to report on the amount of funding received, how this is being used and the impact of any work done.

Below is the Pupil Premium report for the coming year, with predicted funding and how the funds have been allocated.  The money is not 'ring fenced' however this is planned and allocated at the start of each academic year.
